Officials from Betfair, which operates online poker and casino games in New Jersey through a partnership with the Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, have released usage stats since launching in November 2013. As reported, Newark and Jersey City are among the top six municipalities participating in online gaming, which is not a surprise considering they rank 1 and 2 in population in the state. Toms River, 8th largest in the state, is also near the top Betfair’s list, as are Old Bridge in Middlesex County, Hoboken in Hudson County (50k population) and Egg Harbor in Atlantic County (near AC). The peak times for online gaming have been 6pm to 1am; and the most popular online casino games for Betfair players are Blackjack, Monopoly, Crazy Money, Cleopatra, and Roulette. Online gaming generated $7.4 million of revenues for AC casino operators in December.
